When exercising at a high intensity it is important to stay hydrated.

Water should be used before resorting to sports drinks like Gatorade that contain electrolytes as well as added sugars (carbohydrates).

If you are exercising at an intensity level for more than an hour at a time, then sports drinks or water with electrolytes added would be recommended.

It is also important to know how to determine your hydration levels before and after exercise.

The easiest way to determine that is by looking at the colour of your urine.

Light in colour = hydrated

Dark in colour = dehydrated

Stay hydrated throughout your day by having water bottles easily accessible and consuming a balanced diet consisting of fruit and vegetables.

Drink yo water! Cheers!!
