The Top Five Tips To Stay Active While On Vacation

 

The last thing most people think about when going on vacation is exercise. Most people tend to look at exercise as a chore and not something that can be fun. Here are the top 5 tips on how to stay active while on vacation and still enjoy your time away.

1- Sign up for activities like hikes, kayaking, snorkelling, bike rides or a yoga class that are fun to do as a group and doesn’t keep you stuck in a sweaty gym. We call this active rest because your mind is resting from the routine you do at home but still being active doing something completely different.

2- Instead of laying on the beach tanning all day, start a game of volleyball or toss a frisbee on the beach. Get in the water and swim leisurely for awhile. All these activities are fun and still get you in the sun to absorb all the vitamin D needed.

3- Bring some Rubberbands from home that are easy to pack in your suitcase and do a quick twenty minute workout in your condo. Here is a great workout you can do quickly every morning before heading out for the day.

4- Instead of using the elevator every time you leave or arrive at your hotel room, use the stairs. This is a great way to get some exercise into your day that won’t take much time at all.

5- Don’t expect to maintain the same routine that you would back home but make an effort to do something daily for twenty minutes or every second day while on vacation. You may not make any gains by doing this but you will still keep a regular routine so that the habits you have built from your routine at home aren’t broken for when you get home. This will make getting back into your routine after your vacation a lot easier and seamless.
