Don't be a Weekend Warrior!
Often our trainers meet with potential clients that have struggled with consistency in their exercise routine for many years. Whether it was because they had a lack of time, knowledge of what to do, motivation or accountability; they all have been weekend warriors at some point along the way. A weekend warrior is someone who only manages to exercise once a week. This can be a dangerous situation because you are asking your body to do something strenuous that it is not used to doing on a consistent basis. It would be more beneficial to do ten minutes per day instead of one full hour workout on the weekend. This will allow your body to gradually get acclimated to exercise and then you can add five minutes per day extra, every month. It is also recommended to consult with your physician first to ensure that you don’t have any underlying health issues that could be complicated by sudden exercise.
