Why is sleep very important?

When we rest our bodies recover from the days activities and recharge for the next day. Our bodies take the nutrients we have given it throughout the day and use them to build up our energy stores. This helps repair muscle tissues that have been used during exercise and activities for the day. Therefore in short, our bodies get stronger at rest and need that rest to perform at it’s best the following day. Sleep also helps our mental state and lowers stress from work, family commitments etc. Watch the video here from personal trainer Alistair Hopper, on why sleep is important.
