Goal setting is a tool used by all personal trainers to help outline a clients long and short fitness needs. When you start the process of setting your fitness goals, it is good to have a process to follow. Without following a goal setting process you can almost guarantee failure within your fitness journey. Be sure to make your goals Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic and have a Time frame. Think of your goals as long-term (6 to 12 months) and short-term @ to 3 weeks).
These following tips will not only ensure success over the term of your goals timeline, but it will install habits that will benefit you for many years to come, when used properly.
💪 S.M.A.R.T. goal setting.
💪 Set 6-12 month, 2-3 month and 2-3 week goals.
💪 Write out your success indicators.
💪 Write out the steps to achieve each goal.
💪 Review your goals on a monthly basis and add new ones each month.
💪 Use technology from apps to heart rate monitors that will send you reminders and motivate you to be consistent.
💪 Decide what is your “why” for starting this fitness journey.
💪 Enjoy the process and try activities you have always wanted to and are excited about.
