Can You Drink and Hit Your Weight Loss Goals?
In this video from personal trainer Alistair, he discusses some great tips on what is realistic when trying to lose weight and also wanting to go out for drinks with your friends.
This is a question we often get asked and it’s not as straight forward as you may think.
Alcohol is high in calories and therefore often the mindset is to cut it out completely when looking to lose weight. There are definitely sone things that you can do to cut the calories associated with alcoholic beverages and still enjoy social time with friends etc.
The reality is that unspoken or even spoken peer pressure comes along with going out and being social. If you are with true friends, they will understand and support. Most often they will say “hey that’s a great use, I’m going to try that too”. Never be afraid to have a positive impact on those around you.
With that in mind, here are our proven tips to enjoy your social life and to not feel too restricted.
💪 Choose beverages that are not mixed with high sugar content drinks like pop, juices etc. Choose mix such as water or seltzer.
💪 Have a glass of water between your drinks and make a decision to not have more than two or three single ounce drinks.
💪 There are many low calorie seltzer and beer options these days to choose from.
💪 Save some of your days calories for the drinks so that you stay within your caloric allotment for the day.
💪 Order your drink on the rocks. Vermouth, vodka or whiskey is lower in cals and tastes great on the rocks.
