Parkinson's and Dementia Boxing, Agility and Balance Training

Welcome to Winnipeg’s premier boxing, agility, balance and strength personal training that will get you the results you have been looking for. Flex Fitness personal trainer Alistair Hopper is very excited to offer personal training that is focused on the individual needs of people living with Parkinson’s Disease and Dementia. We have structured the workouts in a way to maximize the focus on each clients individual needs. Our workouts will aim to limit outside distractions and stimulations so that the client can increase their focus on the task at hand. We encourage our clients to challenge themselves physically and cognitively while exercising to achieve the most benefits from their workouts. We will push you and challenge you to work hard but in a safe and proper manner.

The initial assessment for each client is a very detailed consultation so that we can focus on your needs and tailor fit the workouts for you. Once you have finished the initial intake then we will book you in for your first workout and start working towards your goals.

Virtual Personal Training

From $67 to $80/hour

Here at Flex Fitness we want to extend our amazing in-person workouts to our clients virtually. This will still allow guidance along with new workouts on a weekly basis. Our virtual workouts offer tailored exercises for your fitness goals and equipment you have available. You will also get weekly phone calls to ensure you are staying on track and accountable. You will also be asked to track your food intake and report weekly to your trainer. Just because we don’t see you in person, doesn’t mean we can’t keep you focused and achieving all your goals.

Whether you are a figure/fitness competitor, traveling business person or a stay at home parent, our trainers can make a program that will work for your needs.

Pricing based on a 1 month minimum commitment.

 

 

Online Custom Programs

If you are tight for time because of a busy family and work schedule, then our customized online programs are for you!

These workouts will focus on your specific needs and maximize your returns. Don’t continue to struggle doing this on your own, we will support you and get the results you are looking for.

Here is what the online programs consist of:

  • A phone consultation to get all the important information regarding your goals, injuries and specific needs.

  • Three customized workout videos that will have detailed instruction on technique and program implementation to ensure your success. These workouts will be posted to your profile on our gym software so you can access it anywhere.

  • Written points on each workout to help guide you through the process.

  • One 15 minute zoom call so you can ask your trainer any questions and get a demonstration if needed.

  • Weekly motivation and follow-ups from your trainer to stay focused and consistent.

Susan Watson - Registered Dietitian

As a registered dietitian, Susan helps her clients understand the behavioural aspects to healthy eating, and gives them practical solutions to move past their nutrition barriers. She educates on the basic principals to meal planning, portion control, calorie budgeting and physical activity, as she puts it all together in a personalized nutrition care plan for her clients.

Prior to becoming a registered dietitian, Susan Watson (Registered Dietician) was a certified fitness instructor for 10 years. Susan then completed her undergrad in Human Nutritional Science at the University of Manitoba and her dietetic internship with the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority. Currently she is now combining her fitness skills with her nutrition knowledge and offering comprehensive nutritional and lifestyle coaching.

Susan’s main nutrition focus is around healthy weight loss and weight management. Susan herself has struggled with the emotional and physical aspects of what it takes to maintain a healthy weight, and has healthfully managed two diabetic pregnancies.
