What to Expect
You will be contacted by Flex Fitness to schedule your initial consultation. The consultation will entail questions ranging from your fitness goals, physical/nutrition habits to any injuries you have sustained. After the consultation is finished we will take a tour of the facilities and schedule your first workout/fitness appraisal.
The appraisal is a full body assessment of your strength, flexibility and cardiovascular capacity. These tests will give your trainer a better idea of some areas that need improvement to increase your overall health and composite scores. Once the hour long appraisal is finished your trainer will schedule your first workout.
Work out Gear
Wear some workout clothes that are comfortable and can breath easily. The most important piece of workout gear is your footwear. Make sure it’s something comfortable and provides proper support. Purchase your shoes from a professional store where they can look at your running gait and whether you have a flat or arched foot.
The workout will begin by going over your scores from your fitness appraisal then if you have any questions they can be answered then. You will do a quick dynamic warm-up then start your program. The exact components of your program will depend on the questions asked during the consultation and your fitness appraisal. Therefore programs will vary from client to client.
As you and your trainer progress along through the program adjustments will be depending on how quickly you learn the exercises and follow your program as it’s written. As you learn the program your trainer will be learning your abilities and strength therefore able to push you harder or pull back a bit on certain exercises.
*As a side note: more experienced clients will go through this process more quickly as the learning curve will be shortened etc.
